I said to Hil, if nobody else gets it, Paul will! What it is to be a forty something.

Two of my all time favourite programs! One of the double deckers- the fat kid - now runs a big research institute somewhere.

What is it to be forty? Pretty crap actually - i'll settle for being 10 again, any day (as long as it was back in the 70's.) Oh, to be able to do it all again...

I thought you'd like it too Andrew, I remember a blog conversation we had ages ago about the joys of a seventies childhood - you're not wrong. The black kid became the singer of Aswad and as for Billy - ah, sweet Billy, she was hot, particularly when she went on to do Folly Foot Farm - first crush for me. Sorry you guys in the States, you probably haven't a clue what we're talking about, so the Banana Splits are on there specially for you.

I don't remember Folly Foot Farm at all - I remember all sorts of other rubbish - what was that one about wild horses? And the ironically named Why Don't You (go and do something interesting instead) or something like that.

Hmmm... it was just such a quieter, more peaceful, less stressful, less busy decade (not that I remember all of it - i was 3 in 1970.)

Andrew, the music will bring it all flooding back I'm sure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yytKPBxGG3o&feature=related

Brilliant! Who says something like 'don't you think this place is smashing?' - no one says smashing anymore. I shall start using it from now on. And good old Arthur English - he was good in Ghosts of Motley Hall but I think that was a bit later.

I still don't really remember it although the music is familiar. 1972 - I was 5 so I would only have seen the repeats.

Wow I was watching The Ghosts of Motley Hall on DVD last night! One of my all time favourites!

My appologies I have no idea what any of that was about. Paul however was showing his age by being very impressed. Oops. Paul also says do you remember Rhubarb and Custard? Again it's lost on me.

Hannah, we're just a bunch of old wrinklies I'm afraid, this is for your Paul

Much appreciated by the old wrinkly over this end of the country. I'm guessing none of this meant very much to Ron either though probably for a different reason.
