Juuuuuuuuuuugs

Evening all.

Here are the harvest jugs I made last week, all decorated.

This is the huge one.

And here are the others.

The little oak tree in the workshop garden is in full leaf and inspired the drawing on these.

I'm starting to feel much more 'in the groove' now. There's always an initial panic when the shelves are empty, but I can see the pots starting to build towards a kiln full, I reckon I've got about a third of a slack kiln load.

These are eight pound jugs, made yesterday and handled today. They'll be slipped tomorrow and will be mostly black and green - the harvest jugs are all going to be yellow and amber.

These are some tall jugs I made today. The baluster is about 21" tall and won't fit inthe bisc kiln unless it shrinks a bit which I'm sure it will. I need to make more big pots tomorrow.

It's been a long day today, I worked until 8pm, so I'm exhausted. I was supposed to be going to the supermarket tonight, but it'll have to wait for another night, I'm off to bed. Goodnight all.

I love the way the wet slipped jugs look. Almost seems a shame to fire them.

Juuugs.... MMMMMMMMMMMMH! I'm waterproofing my bicycle as we speak. The pacific ocean might be a challenge, but...I must see these wonders and splendors that you produce!

I couldn't work out what kind of euphemism "waterproofing my bicycle" would be, but then I read on.

You can't beat whopping great jugs!

In response to Potterboy, I think I got "Waterproofing my bicycle" from a Goon Show episode that I listened to in my tender and formative years. I seem to recall that one of the characters on the show needed to cross the English Channel. Waterproofing the bicycle for such an adventure seemed a wise idea. To not have done so could have invited rising damp, water on the brain, or worse! In my case I am sadly prevented from cycling to England's dear shores by an immense stretch of rather chilly ocean. Waterproofing may have indeed ensured a safe voyage for a Goonish bicycle across 20 odd miles of Channel, but me thinks the risks are higher (as are the waves) when contemplating the Pacific. I may be forced to rise above the sea aboard one of those newfangled hairyplane things instead! P.
