Wait a minute! I thought it was NEXT week!
Hey Doug! Last week I went to York, to York Art Gallery, where there was an exhibition called "Honest Pots".There were pots by people like... oh, Shoji Hamada... Bernard Leach, Michael Cardew, Mick Masson, my own hero, Isaac Button... And a significant number of... Oh yes!!! Doug Fitch! Fantastic! What a great exhibition. And a movie, with that same guy Mr Fitch. Even an appearance or two in the movie by the most excellent potter and blogger Matt Grimmitt. I hate to be all toadying and sycophantic and all that stuff, but I have to say, your pots fitted perfectly in that exhibition, were second to none, and of course, were completely in harmony with that mediaeval city. On the way home, meandering north and west across the Vale of York, we decided to stop for something to eat and drink, in the little market town of Boroughbridge. The cafe/deli we chose was just perfect, full of art. On the shelf along with teas, two big pitchers. Doug Fitch pitchers. How neat is that for a chance coincidental encounter?I'll get around to a blogpost with some pics soon.Good luck with the travels!
